Thank God!! After moving from California and having access at all corners of every city to pretty decent sushi, that is not the case here in Missouri. We have been trying to find a place we would go back to, and this is it!!!
We went on a Wednesday night at 7pm and it was 75% full, we ordered the Koi roll, California roll, and the sashimi roll. We started with miso soup (excellent), and the gyoza (very good).
The Koi roll was superb, the fish was very fresh, and I was not sure how I would feel about the slice of lemon atop The roll, but, it was so refreshing!
There is also a peach saki that will not disappoint if you like sweeter saki!
I am so thrilled we have this to add to our date nights!
There is a happy hour offering some discounted rolls from 5-630, so I will try that too, some people noted this was an expensive place, yes, if you're getting the lobster roll. BUT, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! -

Sushi Koi is my go-to happy hour sushi place. No other place in STL has a happy hour every day of the work week. I've been going for about five years. It's great, tasty, inexpensive, and service is excellent.
But yesterday was probably my last visit for a while. Later that night, both my wife and I were fighting over the toilet. The next day we both woke up with headaches, dehydration. Mine was so severe I had to stay home from work, and I drank a whole bottle of pedialyte. 24 hours later I'm still basically bedridden but feel a lot better, and things have more or less solidified.
I really didn't like the fish I had that day either. The tuna nigiri was warm and had the texture of a mealy tomato. The salmon nigiri was slimy. Quality seems to have gone down much to my gastrointestinal chagrin. I hope it improves.
I might be back but for now I'll be getting my sushi from a place closer to the ocean.
Also, we both have no doubt it was the sushi. If it was just me that had GI problems, then I'd be skeptical, but since both my wife and I both ate there and both had issues at the same time...just remember:

This is a solid sushi restaurant. I've been here before I changed to a plant-based diet and it was great. I've also been here as a vegan and it's still great! The fact that they have one vegan special roll is more than I would have expected.
For non-vegans, the hamachi garlic ponzu roll is delishhhhhhh.
For vegans, I was very content with inari nigiri, avocado roll, and vegan dragon roll.
There can be quite a wait since restaurant itself is small.
Definitely my favorite sushi place in STL. -

We went here for lunch on a Friday we were both off work. When we got there, it was just the end of the lunch crowd but there were a couple of small tables open.
It's a small space and I can see it getting crowded during peak hours.
We started with lycheetinis, a miso soup and seaweed salad and ordered four rolls for sharing. I'll admit the rolls are big and too much food for two people. They were delicious though! Our favorites were the Euclid and the Dragon roll. The other two rolls were fine too just not as memorable. Service was great as well. I've heard about their happy hour and would love to check it out sometime. -

I'll start off by saying my sushi was really good, I had no real complaints. It was rather plain, but we ordered off of the happy hour menu ($6 a roll) so I admit we ordered really standard pieces. We started with the gyoza, and then shared a California roll, Spicy Salmon roll, and Shrimp Tempura roll. All were yummy, but nothing to write home about. That said - I noticed that some of the fancier rolls on other tables looked amazing! The three starts was because 1) the bathroom opened right up to our table and the door didn't shut automatically. This meant when someone left the bathroom, the door was just open right next to our table unless they were nice enough to close it. Tip: don't sit near the back! And 2) although our waiter was VERY nice, our food and check took quite a while to come out.
